On December 13, AIS organized a roundtable discussion on the topic: “State Budget and Public Finances in Election Years and Election Periods – Legal Regulation, Institutional Practices, and the Need for Intervention and Improvement.”
This roundtable is organized as part of the 6th Edition of the Week of Integrity and is implemented within the framework of the project: “EU4 Rule of Law: Citizen Engagement for Public Integrity (CEPI) in the Western Balkans and Turkey,” funded by the European Union. AIS is one of the implementing organizations for this important initiative.
Our Partners for this event are the Albanian Centre for Economic Research (ACER) and the Society for Democratic Culture (SDC).
During the roundtable, was presented the policy document prepared by the AIS organization, analyzing the legal challenges and institutional practices related to the use of public funds during election periods. The discussions also focused on key issues related to the state budget and the management of public finances during these periods, emphasizing the need for transparency and integrity in budgeting processes. Meanwhile, representatives from the Albanian Parliament and other institutions shared their institutional perspectives, discussing existing oversight mechanisms and proposing opportunities for improvements.
