Open Data Albania is exploring on the structure of the economic damage caused to the State Budget. According to the Supreme State Audit, during 2015 period, 84% of the total economic damageamounting to ALL 125.8 billion belong to “State Property Management and Concessions”.

Out of this amount, ALL 100.5 billion are economic damage caused in the area of sale and lease of state assets and ALL 5.3 billion are other violations of financial discipline. The energy and hydrocarbons sectorpose the highest risk in this area.

In the 2012-2015 period, the damage caused to the sector of “State Property Management and Concessions” has grown over eight times. In 2012, this sector recorded a damage of ALL 12.7 billion versus a total economic damage of ALL 13.5 billion.

Taxation and Customs Sector are two other areas in which a high economic damage is caused to the state budget. These two sectors recorded a damage of ALL 12.6 and 4.2 billion. The damage in these two sectors has been increasing since 2012, but this phenomenon is felt more in the last year where the damage in the area of Taxation has been increased 45 times and the damage in the customs sector has increased 5 times compared with the previous year.

Damage in the field of public procurement in 2015 was ALL 2.6 billion, or 2% of the total economic damage. Four years ago, public procurements have caused an economic damage of ALL 444.6 million.

City Planning is the sector with the smallest economic damage over the years. In 2015, the damage from this sector is worth ALL 63 million. Unlike other sectors, the economicdamage caused to the city planning has decreased by about 49% compared with four years ago.
