Open Data Albania is examining the annual changes in the consumer price index by category of goods and services, for the March 2021-March 2022 period. If we assess the changes by category, “Transport” has had the biggest hike in a year, with a 19.9% increase, followed by “Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages” with 9.3% and “Alcoholic beverages and tobacco” increased by 4.9%.

To observe which of the goods and services in the is the most affected by the Change in Consumer Price, ODA has analyzed which specific goods and services of the Albanian consumer basket have been affected the most in the same period.

Of the latter, personal transportation underwent an increase of 26.7% in price, Oils and fats 22.4%, Bread and cereals 15.8%, Vegetables – including potatoes, – 10.5%, Milk, cheese and eggs 10.3% and sugar, jam, honey, chocolate, and cakes increased by 10.2% in 2022 as compared to a year ago.
