Announcement for Young Professionals #Economist #Lawyer; #Journalist and #PoliticalActivist (aged 20 to 30 years old) – Opportunity to gain practical knowledge, info sessions, empowerment, events, networking and training certificate issued by AIS/OpenDataAlbania
The organization AIS, promoter of Open Data for Albania, during the 2021 – 2023 period, with support from the Swedish Embassy in Tirana, has implemented a program that trained young people in the use of data and evidence in function of activism, public debate and drafting of public policies. The major focus has been on the topics of Accountability and Anti-corruption. Title of the project: Youth Empowerment against Corruption Program.
This year, although not funded, the Organization was prompted from young people wishing to become part of the Program, to continue our efforts in empowering youth activism.
For this purpose, we have started working with a small group of young professionals and are extending the call for other young people, who want to work and gain experience with us, to join in.
Fellowship Program Activities:
- Training on how to access and use data for the purpose of Transparency and Accountability on Public Expenditure, Public Contracting and Public Programs
- Information sessions on the use of open access databases or local databases (Treasury Payments; Passports of Companies acting as Public Contractors; Public Procurement in Healthcare, Municipality, National Infrastructure; Asset Declaration; etc.).
- Preparation of Research Articles, which are eventually published at FollowtheMoney.al
- Creative events such as Forum or DataThon (DataMarathon)
- Networking Festive Events
- Certification of Participation Ceremony
- Optional: 3 to 6 months professional commitment contract as Staff at AIS for the best fellows

Due to lack of funding, the events will only take place at the AIS offices and only a limited number of people will be admitted for the 2024 cycle.
