AIS, the organization promoting Open Data Albania, participated in the Career Day event held by the University of Tirana, Faculty of Economics, in May 2025. Over the past 14 years, our organization has developed a strong collaboration with the Faculty, engaging both students and academic staff.
During the event, two of AIS’s Data Analysts and Open Data Albania promoters, Loida Hasa and Era Vukaj, introduced students to the internship and employment opportunities that the organization offers to young individuals studying economic sciences. One of our most dedicated youth programs is the Open Data Fellowship – Youth Empowerment Against Corruption, part of the Open Data Youth Network. Throughout Career Day, AIS’s booth showcased various Open Data Albania projects and facilitated discussions about the importance of civic participation and evidence-based advocacy using data.
Dozens of students from this university have participated in our creative events such as DataThons and in our Youth Internship Programs. Data from our open databases — Open Spending, Open Procurement, and Open Data are widely used by students for academic research and thesis work. The majority of our data analyst staff over the past 14 years are alumni of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tirana.
AIS – Open Data Albania is an organization committed to transparency, accountability, and good governance. It is widely recognized for its databases designed to support transparency in public contracting, procurement, and spending, as well as for its strong advocacy role in promoting good governance and anti-corruption efforts.
The Career Day event at the Faculty of Economics, titled “Take Your Step”, brought together over 50 organizations and businesses. The event’s aim is to support students in better approaching the labor market by offering opportunities such as employment, internships, practical training, volunteer engagement, workshops, training programs, and information on international scholarship opportunities.
