The organization AIS initiated a series of meetings with young participants involved in the Open Data Youth Network. During a recent meeting held at AIS premises, a report prepared by the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) was presented to young students of economics and law. The report uses Transparency International’s methodology to assess the National Integrity System. It includes analysis and key findings on the integrity of 15 main governance chapters, along with recommendations for state institutions.
The NIS Assessment was developed as part of the project “EU4 Rule of Law: Citizen Engagement for Public Integrity (CEPI) in the Western Balkans and Turkey,” funded by the European Union.
This report aims to evaluate the institutional framework by focusing on good governance, transparency, and accountability. It represents the first assessment of its kind for Albania since 2016.
The assessment was prepared with financial support from the European Union. Its content is the sole responsibility of the Institute for Democracy and Mediation and does not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union.
Students emphasized the importance of recommendations related to the Legislative branch and the Parliament, expressing strong interest in gaining a clearer understanding of oversight and the independence of powers.
The Open Data Fellowship Network is organized for the third consecutive year by AIS as a practical initiative for students and young people seeking to develop skills in transparency and accountability within the public sector.
