Economic enterprises by counties.

Open date Albania has conducted research on the extent of economic enterprises in counties of Albania. The county with the highest number of enterprises in 2010 results to be Tirana with 38,361 enterprises, which constitute 38% of the total of 100.687 enterprises in overall counties. The following counties in this trend are Durres with 12,233 enterprises, Fier with 9,329 and Vlora with 8,409 enterprises.

The county with the lowest number of enterprises is Kukes, with 915 enterprises which constitute 0.91% of the total. Characteristic of this county is the low rate of market entry of new enterprises, ranking the last out of 13 counties, with a coefficient of enterprise birth rate of 12.1% in 2009. Other counties with low activity according to the number of enterprises are Dibra, Lezha and Gjirokastra, which in total do not exceed the number of enterprises operating in Tirana.

Tirana has the highest number of enterprises in the trade sector, with 16,856 enterprises that constitute 37.7% of total sector. Kukes remains the county with the lowest number of enterprises also in the trade sector, with 400 enterprises which occupy 0.89% of this sector.
