Survival up to age 65 (2002-2010)

Open date Albania has conducted a research on an indicator set to “survival up to age 65”. Survival up to age 65 is an estimate on the percentage of newborn babies who survive up to age 65. This provision is estimated if all the days of the newborn do not alter the conditions of mortality. This indicator is considered different for the two sexes and since 2002 he has changed according to the table.

The increase of this indicator in the period 2002-2010, is an indication of living conditions and quality improvement, as well as improvement of welfare. What I noticed is that the index for women’s has always been higher than the index for men’s. Thus 90.4% of female infants born in 2010, live up to age 65, while only 82.4% of male babies reaches this age.

Compared with the region, Albania ranks second in the percentage of newborn babies that could survive up to the age 65.On the other hand Greece seems to be the country with the highest index in the region.  Whereas the country with the lowest index of survival up to the age 65 is Serbia, the percentage of infants who survive up to age 65is 85.8 % for females and 75.1 % for males.
