Natural births are normal and healthy for the mother and child. Exceptions are critical cases for health reasons. Compared with some countries, the level of Caesarean births in hospitals, in Albania is higher than in Macedonia, Montenegro and Slovenia for 2007-2009, and that Croatia for 2006. Countries like Italy, Austria, Serbia (2008) have a higher percentage of the indicator.
For comparison was selected as a percentage value of a given year in the 2006-2009 time frame. This is because publications and measurements from the World Health Organization for this indication become frequent every 2 to 3 years.
