Open Data Albania has updated data on inflation in Albania for a 25 -year period , from 1988 to 2013 . Inflation is an indicator of change in the general price level in an economy. Inflation is measured as the change in the consumer price index ( CPI ), which measures the change in price of a basket of items for these goods typically consumed by a household.
Inflation reached to 1.9 % at the end of 2013, declining versus a year ago. The decline of inflation was due to the economic crisis in the country that has contracted the consumption of goods and services by locals.
Year 2013 recorded a low rate of month-on-month inflation because of the weak consumption. In 25 years , Albania has spent at least two years of high inflation over a hundred percent, but  since 2007 the inflation has remained constantly below three percent.
