In 2013 the inflation rate reached 1.9%, value that was 0.5% lower compared with 2012. The month with the highest rate of inflation is December, with 1.7%. As expected, the end of the year marks an increase, often artificial, of prices of goods in the consumer basket.

Focusing on 12 key commodity groups, the group which marks the highest rate of inflation is that of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, with 4.2%, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages by 3.5%. Clothing and footwear, is the category with the lowest value – 3.4%.
