Open Data Albania has conducted a research related to entities that are licensed by the Gambling Supervision Unit. This institution, except issuing licenses, also supervises and controls the activities of entities that organize gambling in the territory of the Republic of Albania, in accordance with legislation and bylaws in force. Research data were obtained from the Gambling Supervision Unit (GSU) database and from the National Registration Center (NRC).

These subjects are divided into six categories, namely the National Lottery, Bingo TV, Casino, Electronic Casino, Sports Betting and Traditional Bingo.

The category with the largest number of subjects is that of Electronic Casinos with 10 subjects respectively. Sports bets mark 6 subjects, but have a wider reach across the country due to the large number of headquarters. Top Bast, one of the sports betting companies with only twenty-two million ALL of initial capital has 1117 headquarters on the entire territory of the Republic of Albania. In the country there are 2,513 gambling points licensed to operate.

The company with the largest initial capital is the National Lottery with respectively 1,201,950,000 ALL invested in the beginning. This company has the legal form of a limited liability company, unlike other companies that are licensed by GSU as joint stock companies (anonymous).

The subject with less charter capital is National Bingo with respectively 2,000,000 ALL invested in the beginning. This subject has only one headquarters and four shares. Among the shareholders of gambling companies there are also two women. As a whole, the charter capital of companies licensed for gambling is 2.91 billion ALL.
