Open Data Albania is exploring on indicators of import of wheat and wheat-rye mixture (muesli) in the years 2001-2013. Over the years, the import of wheat and wheat-rye mixture has undergone constant ups and downs, both in quantity and value. The largest amount of wheat and wheat-rye mixture, a value of 354,617 tons, was imported in year 2004. The highest value in ALL for the import of wheat and wheat – rye mixture was reached in 2011.

In the 2001-2013 time frame, our country has imported wheat and wheat-rye mix from different countries of the world, from Latin America to the Middle East countries. Russia; Serbia; Bulgaria and France are ranked as the countries from which we have bought consistently over the years wheat and wheat-rye mixture.

Also, significant importance in the import of wheat and wheat-rye mixture have countries like Hungary, Ukraine and Croatia, Greece and Italy. Our country has bought wheat from the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Moldova, Turkey, but in short periods of time. In 2013, about 68.5% of the amount for this commodity group comes from Russia; 11.46 Serbia and then other countries.

The annual average purchase price of wheat and wheat-rye mixture from imports until 2006 varies from 15,000 to 17,000 ALL / Tone. In 2007, the purchase price of wheat and wheat-rye mixture became more expensive, reaching levels above 20,000 ALL / Tone. This price continued to increase in the following years, reaching in 2011 the highest average price of purchasing wheat and wheat-rye mixture, when a tone was purchased for 35,290 ALL ($ 350).

Russia is the country with the highest amount of imports as well as the country with the most competitive price compared to other countries. Croatia is a country with lower import price against the average of other countries.

In 2013, 254,228 tons of wheat and wheat-rye mix were imported, with an annual average purchase price of 33,620 ALL / Tone ($ 320 / Ton). The main countries from which wheat and wheat-rye mixture was purchased were Bosnia and Herzegovina; Bulgaria; Croatia; France; Greece; Hungary; Italy; Kazakhstan; Romania; Russia and Serbia. This year there were no imports from Ukraine, which has been a regular supplier of our country. Russia and Croatia are the countries with the most competitive price against the average price.
