Agriculture, subsectors according to the number and capital of the Joint-Stock Companies in Albania, June 2014

Open Data Albania has conducted a research regarding the number and capital of the joint-stock companies operating at the Agriculture sector in Albania. The indicators are based on data obtained from the National Registration Center (NRC) and the research is carried out based on the official historical extracts of June 2014. In the Agriculture sector there are 18 joint-stock operating companies that constitute 1.4% of the all registered joint-stock companies, or 1.7% of the companies for which there are registered data at NRC.

Also, based on the capital, it results that the agriculture sector is the last and the smallest because of its specific weights within the total capital of registered joint-stock companies. Thus, the basic capital of the companies operating in the agriculture sector amounts to the level of 17,853,322 Euro or 0.6% of the total capital of joint-stock companies registered at NRC.

Based on the field of activity as declared by joint-stock companies registered at the NRC, the Agriculture sector can be divided into five subsectors as follow: Agriculture, farming, arboriculture and viniculture; Animal husbandry; Fishing; Forestry; Hunting.

According to the number of joint-stock companies operating in the agriculture sector, 72.2% of them are concentrated in the subsectors of: agriculture and farming, arboriculture and viniculture (44.4%), forestry (27.8%).

On the other side, the distribution of capital through subsectors is a little bit different where 70.5% of agricultural capital is concentrated on the subsectors of: agriculture and farming, arboriculture and viniculture (45.5%), and animal husbandry (25.0%).
