According to the research, the 50 JSCs with the highest share capital, own a total of 23.2 billion euro, representing about 77.2% of the total capital that all active 847 JSCs operating in Albania.

In the activity of the 50 JSCs with the largest capital, the services sector is the one that dominates with 41 JSCs which have a capital that amounts to 1.75 billion euro. The most distinguished in this group are commercial banks and insurance companies. Another sector where the biggest companies are present is the production sector with 9 JSCs that have a capital of 479 million euro. In this group the most distinguished ones are the state-owned JSCs that operate in the field of production, extraction, processing and transmission of energy sources.

Based on the type of ownership of capital about 36 JSCs have private owned capital with a value of 1.37 billion euro owning about 62% of the total capital of the 50 JSC-s with the highest share capital. This group is followed by 10 JSCs with state owned capital owning about 22% of the total with a value of 487 million euro. While 4 companies have mixed capital (public-private) with a value of 369 million euro, constituting 16% of the total capital of the 50 companies with the highest capital in the economy.

66% of the capital owned from the biggest 50 joint stock companies of the country has foreign origin, reaching a value of 1.23 billion euro. The rest of the capital, with a value of 767.5 million euro is domestic capital. Regarding the distribution of the 50 JSCs according to the origin of the capital, about 15 JSCs or 30% of them have only domestic equity, 23 JSCs or 46% of them have only foreign capital and 12 other JSCs have mixed capital.

In a more detailed analysis of the presence of foreign capital into the shareholding structure of the 50 JSCs with the highest share capital, it results that in 26 JSCs the foreign capital is present with a total value of 1.23 billion euro.

The presence of only foreign individuals is noticed in 4 cases with a capital value of about 62.6 million euro, while in 5 JSCs are present companies with foreign capital and foreign individuals with a capital value of 168.3 million euro.
