Open Data Albania has updated data regarding the import of wheat and wheat-rye mixture (muslin) for 2014. The analysis is based on data provided from the International Trade Centre (ITC).

In 2014, according to ITC, 269 398 tons of wheat and wheat-rye mix, with a value of 6628  billion were imported in 2014. The quantity imported in 2014 is about 6% higher than that of a year ago.

Our country has consistently imported wheat and wheat-rye mixture from a plenty of countries. Even in 2014, Russia and Serbia remain Albania’s main suppliers of wheat and wheat-rye mixture, while Italy, France, Bulgaria, Hungaria, Croatia and Macedonia are other countries from which we buy wheat and wheat-rye mix in lower quantities and values.

France and Hungarian imports of wheat and wheat-rye has undergone a significant drop in 2014, while imports from other countries has increased. With an increase by 21% in 2014, the amount of Russian imports constitute 75% of total imports of wheat and wheat-rye mix for 2014. While imports from the Serbia accounted for 15% of the total. The other importing countries are Croatia with 4% of the total, Bulgaria 2%, Italy 1%, France 1% , Hungaria 1% and Macedonia 1%.

Since 2011, the average purchase price of wheat and wheat-rye mix has been declining. 2014 was accompanied by an annual decline of the price by about 27%, marking an average purchase price of wheat and wheat-rye mix of 24,600 ALL / Tone.

Macedonia is a country from which we bought with the cheapest price for 2014. Likewise, wheat and wheat-rye mix are bought by cheap prices from Russia, where the average purchase price for 2014 is about 25% lower than a year ago.
