Open Data Albania has considered tuition fees in Public Institutions of Higher Education approved by the Council of Ministers for two academic years: 2010-2011 and 2015-2016. It was focused only on compulsory fees to be paid for attendance in the first cycle of study, or Bachelor system.

In the academic year 2015-2016, the studies at Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Health branches of the University of Medicine have a higher cost amounting to ALL 45 000 / year. Then comes the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Arts with tuition fees respectively amounting to ALL 40 000 / year.

These were public institutions of higher education that generally had the highest rates of study through 2010-2011 academic year as well, excluding the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Medicine.

Compared with 2010-2011 academic year, the fees for the academic year 2015-2016 increased averagely by ALL 10 000. Fees for the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness in ?Agribusiness Management” program and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine recorded the highest growth in absolute terms, with around ALL 19,500. Fees in the Faculty of Forestry in the ?Forest breeding” branch went also high with ALL 14,670 as well as tariffs in Tirana University of Sports with ALL 14,560 and in the Faculties of Dental Medicine and Pharmacy with ALL 14,340. It is obviously seen that tuition fees in regional universities have experienced lower growth than universities operating in Tirana.  “Ismail Qemali” University of Vlora is an institution with the smallest increase of fees that is by ALL 5,692.

If we compare 2015-2016 increase of tariffs with 2010-2011 tariffs in relative terms expressed in percentage, we will observe a great change in tariffs between the three faculties of the Agricultural University of Tirana, the Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness at “agribusiness management” program by 128% or 2.2 times, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Faculty of Forestry in the” Breeding forest ” branch by 128%, or 2.2 times more. The tariffs at Tirana University, at economic (37%), social sciences (30.5%) and justice (30.5%) branches were increased at smaller paces.
