The indicator shows only the current impact of terrorism on these countries and does not measure the risk of terrorism in the future. Rating escalates from zero to ten, where higher values indicate higher impacts and sensitivity to terrorist acts. In 2014, Terrorism Index for Albania amounted to 12.2, one of the highest rates during a period of ten years.

In Europe, such countries as Turkey, United Kingdom, Greece and France have recorded high values in the terrorism index (over 4). Among the countries surveyed in this analysis, Switzerland is the country with the lowest rates of the impact of terrorism in Europe.
In 2014, that rate of Switzerland terrorism amounted to 1.35, while in 2006 these rates were even lower as they run to 0.13. Spain is one of the European countries that recorded the highest rates in the global terrorism index for 2006, respectively by 5.58. But the ranking of Spain in the Global terrorism Index has been decreasing in each passing year.

In 2014, India was ranked the first in the Global Terrorism Index with a rate of 7.75, followed by China with 6.29 and the United States with 4.61. India seems to have maintained this high level in Global Terrorism Index, since in 2010 this rate amounted to 8.09. In these nine years, India has kept the same ranking in terms of Global Terrorism Index. But it is interesting that Korea and UAE have a 0 rate of sensitivity in this index.
