efficiency by bringing together public procurement data analytics and civil monitors<\/strong>, a training session was held on <strong>26 October 2025<\/strong> in <strong>Gjirokast\u00ebr<\/strong>, focusing on strengthening civil monitoring capacities for public contracts and the use of data analytics in public procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training aimed to reinforce the role of <strong>citizens, journalists, and civil society organizations<\/strong> in identifying risks and irregularities in public contracts, through a combination of data analysis and on-the-ground monitoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Main topics addressed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Why monitoring public contracts is essential for transparency and accountability;<\/li><li>The role of civil monitors in overseeing public procurement;<\/li><li>Risk assessment of public contracts using data from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/opentender.eu\/start\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/opentender.eu\/start\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>opentender.eu<\/strong><\/a><\/a><\/strong>;<\/li><li>Case reporting and documentation models through <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.monithon.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>monithon.eu<\/strong><\/a><\/strong>;<\/li><li>Capacity building and networking class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training was attended by <strong>31 participants<\/strong>, representing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>investigative journalists,<\/li><li>civil society organizations,<\/li><li>Open Data Youth Fellowship.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to participation data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>42%<\/strong> were investigative journalists,<\/li><li><strong>23%<\/strong> representatives of NGOs,<\/li><li><strong>26%<\/strong> Open Data Youth Fellows,<\/li><li><strong>10%<\/strong> AIS staff and experts.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From a gender perspective, <strong>74% of participants were women<\/strong> and <strong>26% men<\/strong>, reflecting a high level of women\u2019s participation in
