Open Data Albania is exploring trends and progress on actions relating to Section 277 of the Penal law, namely “self-judgment”. This article is formulated predicting actions of a person exercising a right that belongs or that he thinks it belongs to him and that is not recognized by the other, without resorting to the competent state authority.

This action constitutes a criminal offense and is punishable by fine or imprisonment up to three months. For this offense, during this period it appears that 388 cases were investigated and 477 people were sentenced. The year with more issues investigated is the year 2010, exactly 59 issues, while the year with more convicted persons is 2011, 76 people convicted in concrete terms.

This article also demonstrates the level of confidence that individuals have in resolving conflicts and regaining the rights through institutional intervention. The volume of this offense is problematic as long as the cases are associated with social conflicts, and often are finalized with physical harm to life, property and rights in general. The curve of this crime against public order and safety has not pronounced decrease increase growth issues.
