Polytechnic University of Tirana – compulsory fees to pay for studies

Open Data Albania is exploring on the study fees for the first and the second study cycle at the Polytechnic University of Tirana. The university is composed of six faculties such as Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Geology and Mining and recently Faculty of Information Technology. Fees for the first cycle of studies belong to students entering the first year of study. The data obtained are from the academic year 2012/2013 and the academic year 2013/2014. Faculties that are part of this University only offer full-time studies, with the exception of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which offers a part-time program of study for first degree level.

Study programs of the first cycle are realized with 180 European credits and their duration is three academic years. Annual tuition fees in the full-time first study cycle vary according to the faculties of the Polytechnic University of Tirana. For this academic year the Faculty of Civil Engineering has the highest tuition fees, where the two profiles branch of architecture has a fee of 35.883 ALL / year, the branch of Civil Engineering has a fee of 29.888 ALL / year, while other branches of the faculty have same fee of 17.930 ALL / year. Then we have the Faculty of Information Technology where the tuition fee for each branch is 23.915 ALL / year. The other faculties have an equal fee application to 17.930 ALL / year. Second cycle studies are organized in professional master’s programs, master of science, or the fine arts and integrated programs. The latter are specific to the branch of architecture at the Faculty of Engineering. (DCM Nr.565 Dated 27/06/2013

Study programs “Professional Master” are realized with 60-90 credits and their normal duration is 1.5 (one year and six months) academic year. Tuition fees for this academic year professional master’s degree are almost identical in all faculties of Polytechnic University of Tirana, this fee is ALL 84,240 for a complete master cycle.

The exceptions are the branch of Civil Engineering (Faculty of Civil Engineering), branch of Textiles and Fashion Engineering (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) and the branch of Informatics Engineering (Faculty of Information Technology), where the full fee of the professional master study program is 93.600 ALL. Study programs for “Master of Science” or “Master of Fine Arts” comprise 120 credits and their normal duration is two academic years. For this academic year the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Information Technology have the highest tuition fees, where the full fee is 181.709 ALL. Then comes the Faculty of Electrical Engineering with a total fee 162.240 ALL. The remaining faculties have the same fee, of 142.771 ALL. In the Polytechnic University of Tirana there is only one branch of part-time study offered by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Last academic year fees for this program were, as the first faculty to the student 116.820 ALL / year, while in the case of a second faculty to the student 129.780 ALL / year.
