In the electoral campaign for the 2013 parliamentary elections, the Socialist Party, which was also the leading political formation of the alliance that won the elections, managed to collect funds amounting to 80 million Leks (ca. $741,467). In addition, according to official financial reports, this political party has spent twice as much as collected funds. Specifically, its total campaign expenses amount to 187 million Leks (ca. $1,821,369). Simply said, 57 % of the expenses have not been covered by the collected and allocated funds for the electoral campaign.

The Socialist Party has benefited a total fund of 26 million Leks from the state budget. The private donors have made contributions for an amount of 45.3 million Leks. This party has 53 donors, who have provided 56.58 % of the total collected funds. The party has drawn on its own funds for covering the electoral campaign expenses for a total worth of 8.6 million Leks, or 10.81 % of the total funds.

Compared to the 2009 Campaign for the Parliamentary Elections, the SP has collected 14.4 % less funds in this electoral campaign. In the 2009 electoral campaign, this party collected funds to the amount of 93.6 million Leks compared to 80 million Leks it did collect in the 2013 electoral campaign.
